When Is The Best Time To ‘Post’ Updates About My Business On Social Media?

Most of the popular social media platforms now offer some kind of “insights” or “analytics” for businesses to measure their time spent online.

For example; Facebook provides ‘Page Insights’ to Page Administrators to monitor what’s working / not working on your page; help you to understand the people who like your page and engage with your posts; and allows you to make decisions about the best ways to connect with your audience. You can access Facebook ‘Page Insight’s at the top of your Company Page once you’ve signed in to Facebook.

If you are new to social media and haven’t yet posted anything on your chosen social media platforms then you’ll need to carry out a little ‘trial and error’ when it comes to monitoring the best days/ times of days to engage with your audience. Think about when your audience is most likely going to be online and start there. For example; a tradesman is less likely to be online during the hours of 8am – 3pm when they are ‘on the job’ than earlier in the morning (before they go to work), or in the afternoon (after 3pm) once they’ve clocked off for the day.

Still not sure where to start? Take a look at the graphs and tables below (thanks to the ‘May 2014 Yellow Social Media Report’) for some more statistics on when Australian’s are using social media sites.
